The CentOS team is happy to announce the availability of CentOS-4.0 (RC1) for i386. This product supports AMD Athlon, Athlon XP, Duron, Intel Pentium, Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium 4 and Pentium Xeon processors. i586 based CPU's are also supported.
The only way to download ISO's is via bittorrent. Please leave your download client running after the download is complete (with ports 6881-6889 open) as your client will become part of the peer to peer bittorrent network and reduce the load on our network mirrors. If you need some quick pointers for getting up to speed on bittorrent read:

NOTE: This is a Release Candidate distribution build and may not be suitable for use in production environments. We encourage you to provide feedback on this build via the Mailing Lists.
However, any errors or bugs you encounter should be reported to us via bugzilla on http://www.centos.org/bugs
RC1 - Expected life span is 14 days from Release. Within this time period we expect to move to a Final Release. Unless there are any urgent security issues, there will be no package update provided for RC1.
If you are currently running Centos4/Beta i386, you should take a look at the release notes at : http://beta.centos.org/centos/4.0beta/os/i386/RELEASE-NOTES-en.html, before attempting the upgrade.
A bittorent for CD binary iso files is available from:

Power Mac G5
Based on the 64-bit PowerPC 970 processor from IBM, the G5 desktop features a 1 GHz front-side bus and supports up to 8GB of memory. The new systems utilize 400 MHz 128-bit DDR SDRAM, PCI-X, AGP 8X Pro graphics and dual Serial ATA hard drive interfaces. Apple CEO Steve Jobs took the stage Monday at WWDC 2003 in San Francisco, ushering in a new era of 64-bit desktop computing. Jobs offered developers a first look at Apple’s upcoming release of Mac OS X version 10.3, code-named “Panther” and put to rest a myriad of rumors and speculation with the introduction of the Power Mac G5.
“The 64-bit revolution has begun and the personal computer will never be the same again,” said Jobs. “The new Power Mac G5 combines the world’s first 64-bit desktop processor, the industry’s first 1 GHz front-side bus, and up to 8GB of memory to beat the fastest Pentium 4 and dual Xeon-based systems in industry-standard benchmarks and real-world professional applications.”

Intel is expected to announce a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 on Monday at $637 a pop.
And it is believed that ATI will unveil its latest Pentium 4 chipsets on the same day.
The new processor will support a 200MHz frontside bus quad-pumped for an effective 800MHz frequency. It will contain 512KB of on-die L2 cache and be produced using a 0.13 micron fabrication process.
Its price should put the new P4 well above the current top-of-the-range model, the 3GHz chip, which is priced at $437, according to Intel’s most recent price list.

The Intel Developer forum 2003 is in the full course and we had today the opportunity first of memory bench mark on a system with Intels coming Springdale chip set (i865) with dual Channel DDR400 support to accomplish. As processor a Pentium 4 with 3 GHz and FSB800 was used.
In this connection we raised also Intels new Overclocking features to the course come to let and have the Frontside bus by 4 per cent in relation to the default value of 800 MHz to a clock of 832 MHz. Here the following result resulted:
Already at first sight the result of the Springdale can convince. Our attempt on the issued and on Canterwood system faster for itself bench mark to likewise through-early, failed however because of the safety personnel. If it should permit the time, we will try to lead further tests on the Springdale platform through.
If the results in the very theoretical memory bench mark should be confirmed also in material applications approximately, then the change on dual Channel DDR400 could cause a tidy performance thrust, without having to raise thereby the processor clock actually.

Freeware VirtualDub is a video capture and processing program. It features fast capturing, process files larger than the 2 gigabyte limit, optimized for linear editing, support for Motion-JPEG, MPEG-1 video and layer 3 audio, real-time and near-realtime video processing, video job queues, and much more.
You only need this one file if all you want to do is run VirtualDub. Unzip
and start virtualdub.exe. This version runs on any 80486-compatible CPU. (Note:
Extract the full contents to a directory. Don’t run it directly from the zip
file.)
