Zoom Player WMV/Pro/Standard Beta 4 4.5 RC1

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Zoom Player is a robust Media and DVD Front-End Player.

Zoom Player was designed to be simple at first glance while being remarkably dynamic and flexible when used to its full potential. Beyond the features provided by Zoom Player Professional, , Zoom Player WMV Professional allows you to play Windows Media Video Digital Rights Management files.

The first thing you should do is install this Microsoft Patch if you are using an operating system older than Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Next make sure you have DirectX v9 or newer installed on your machine. You can download the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft.

You also need a display card and drivers that support VMR9 Video Rendering. Both ATI and NVIDIA have drivers that support VMR9. You will further need to Configure Zoom Player Windows Media settings within the "Windows Media" tab under "Advanced Options / Settings".

Finally, you must authenticate the disc/file you are trying to play in order to obtain a playing license. With WM-DVD discs, usually inserting the disc accomplishes that. For WMV DRM media files, you may need to first try playing them with Windows Media Player 9

Changes Include:

- Mobilization USB Support (running directly from USB Flash Drives).

- Improved DVD/Media Automation

- Lots of Fixes

ffdshow -25-02-04

Monday, May 12th, 2008

ffdshow is a GREAT DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing DIVX movies, picture postprocessing and show subtitles. It uses libavcodec from ffmpeg project or for video decompression (it can use xvid.dll installed with xvid codec too), postprocessing code from mplayer to enhance visual quality of low bitrate movies, and is based on original DirectShow filter from XviD, which is GPL’ed educational implementation of MPEG4 encoder.

foobar2000 v0.586

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

FB2000 uses a plain and simple UI - no skins, no fuss. Filesize is 200 kb, while in playback mode the player approximately consumes 1.9 Mbyte of your RAM which is so much less compared to Winamp or MS Media Player.

Changes in Current Version:

- fixed problems with adding files from commandline

- option to disable WM_APPCOMMAND stuff (multimedia keyboards etc)

- fixed unicode in rar reader

- Case added bitrate display for wavpack files
